Personal Styling at The Boutique at Brilliant Bodywork

For those of you who follow The Boutique at Brilliant Bodywork on our social media pages like Facebook and Instagram you may have seen posts by us offering personal styling if you come in to the boutique free of charge. Some of you may be wondering what exactly we mean by this. There are many different types of personal styling and/or personal shopping. For example, one can hire a freelance personal stylist to help them come up with a new wardrobe for a specific need such as a new career or for a new wardrobe just for day to day looks. This type of personal stylist typically will come into your home and go through your closet with you helping to decide what to keep and toss and how to put outfits together with what you have and go out shopping for you to add more versatility and function to what you have. This type of personal styling is not free and cost depends on the stylist experience and reputation. A personal shopper is typically an employee of a department store or boutique who picks out outfit selections typically in advance of the customer arriving. They usually talk to the customer about their wants and needs and then make outfit selections based on their conversation. Then when the customer arrives they have a full dressing room waiting for them with outfits suited to their tastes and needs. Personal styling can be a great experience, stylist know how to dress different body types in ways that are most flattering, they know how to put different variations of outfits together using a few key clothing pieces and accessories, they get to know your tastes as well and come up with a style plan to fit the things you like. To top it off getting some assistance from a stylist can help to build your confidence in growing and maintaining your own wardrobe and your confidence in yourself. When you feel good about how you look and what your wearing you naturally feel more confident in yourself. At The Boutique at Brilliant Bodywork personal styling services to our clients at no additional cost.

We are more than happy to help you put together a complete outfit or take some pieces from your own wardrobe and dress them up with some of our pieces of clothing and/or accessories. Here are some examples of outfits that we styled here at the boutique. These are all available for purchase at The Boutique at Brilliant Bodywork.

Outfit #1- For this outfit I used my own leggings and sandals. I wanted to create a look that could be versatile, a look that could go from the office to drinks with the girls that evening. If you are business casual, you should be able to do a black slim ankle pant instead of leggings or even a burgundy pair would go nicely. If your more business professional I would do a black pencil skirt and a high heel shoe or boot. For the work day keep your cardigan on to add a polished, professional look that still has some personality. When nighttime hits lose the cardigan, open your top a bit to expose your décolletage and add some sexy pumps or heeled sandals. You could even switch out your workday bag for a shiny metallic clutch or a fun, evening pocketbook. If your pile your hair up on your head for the day, when evening comes you should be able to shake it out, add some texturizing spray and have some great volume and waves for the night.

Outfit #2- This outfit I am wearing my own sandals. For this outfit I wanted to take something simple (a printed jersey cotton wrap dress) and make it also versatile. This is a cute look that can go from PTA meeting or teachers meeting at your kid’s school to lunch with your hubby or significant other. It’s a knee length (read: appropriate) length dress for handling different responsibilities where you need to look polished but can still be somewhat casual. The fun with this dress is the bright colors and the bright print. Because the dress speaks volumes on in its own, it is important to keep the jewelry toned down and at a minimum. I went with a small statement necklace in white and gold with a pair of our retro looking shades in teal to match the turquoise in the dress. If you want to elevate this look you could simply switch out a sandal for a strappy high heel sandal or a flat sandal that has some embellishment. I love this dress for the simple fact that it is a quick and easy outfit, you just throw it on add some accessories and you are ready to go. Not to mention this style dress is extremely forgiving and comfortable. The wrap tie accentuates the waist which is flattering on most body shapes and creates a slimming, hourglass effect. For my hair I would probably do a French twist, it is an easy to do style that looks classy and keeps your hair out of your face.

Outfit #3- This outfit I have my own leggings and sandals. This outfit I decided to feature one of our many fun, cute, and comfy graphic tees. We have a huge selection of graphics tees and tanks with fun sayings and pictures on them. This is an outfit that could be switched out with a pair of skinny jeans or boyfriend jeans would look great as well. You could easily switch out the sandals for a pair of Converse sneakers or any trendy, cute sneaker to that effect (think Toms or Keds). In the fall and winter throw your favorite pair of boots over your leggings or skinny jeans and ad a comfy sweater. For this outfit I added a fun pearl and rhinestone statement necklace to give the outfit a bit of sparkle, not to mention the Southern belle in me loves pearls. Keep your hair down or throw it up in the go to messy bun and you have a great look for grabbing coffee and heading to the park with the kiddos, a day of shopping with your girlfriends, or just running errands. These graphic tees are great casual day outfit makers.

Outfit #4- The last outfit also features my own leggings and sandals. This is another very versatile outfit that can transition from work to play with just a few alterations. This is a navy tunic featuring an open collar and button sleeves. I dressed this version up with a large gold and bead statement necklace. This tunic would be great for work with a pair of slim dress pants and a long, slim necklace featuring more delicate details. Throw on some sassy black boots to complete the outfit. When works over and its time to have some fun switch out your necklace in favor of a bold, chunky statement necklace. Keep your boots or switch to some fun pumps. A top-knot hair style completes your look.
